Princess Diana's wedding dress made headlines around the world, but it has just been revealed that there was a back-up wedding dress for the princess as well. People magazine revealed that ti was intended to be used if the Diana's first choice was outed before the big day in 1981.

The magazine has published a photograph of the never before seen extra dress, which was created by the same designer that made her famous gown, Elizabeth Emanuel. Emanuel said that at the time it was absolutely critical that the dress was a surprise. The ivory silk taffeta gown bears the same ruffles around the neck as the original but without the signature lace, and it was never completely finished or tried on by Diana. The palace has tried to keep the designer of Kate Middleton's wedding dress a secret this time around, which is easier said then done given the relentless news cycle and digital technology today.

Celebrity socialite Kim Kardashian has confirmed in a recent interview that she is excited about getting married to NBA player beau Kris Humphries, and that she has already picked out the perfect wedding dress. She said she is fantasizing about every detail of her dream wedding and can't wait to get married.

She already knows what her gown is going to look like, and that it will be what she has imagined since she was a little girl. According to a friend, she may fly to Paris to get a Chanel couture gown. She wants a white, strapless floor-length gown that's traditional but sexy and makes her feel like a princess. Kim said that she plans on continuing the family tradition by naming all of her kids with K's, and that she wants to have a big family with three to five kids.

Buttercream has become increasingly popular in wedding cakes. Brides today are opting for wedding cakes topped with flowers or other objects that represent the themes of the wedding instead of using traditional cake toppers of the bride and groom.

Wedding cake flavors like gingerbread, lemon, coffee and nutty flavors are becoming a popular wedding cake trend, though chocolate is still a favorite for many.
